My journey toward success truly began when I entered the hallowed halls of the University of Sindh Jamshoro. I had always been captivated by the world of computers, and it became increasingly clear that this field was where my heart belonged, unlike other branches of engineering. However, the vastness of computer science left me uncertain about my path. Eager to unravel the mysteries of the digital realm, I joined the Computer Science Department’s 2016 batch. In my third year at the university, a pivotal moment arrived when Madam Farhat made an exciting announcement about the launch of a new program: US-SCDC (University of Sindh – Skill and Career Development Center), in collaboration with the Sindh Skills Development Program (SSDP). Fortune smiled upon me as I passed the qualifying test and secured a spot for free training. The US-SCDC sessions exposed me to a wide range of topics, including Java programming, networking, Android app development, .Net technologies, and various software testing techniques. Upon graduation, I embarked on a new chapter, landing a job as a .Net Developer at a multinational company in Islamabad. There, I honed my skills for two fulfilling years. Concurrently, I never ceased applying for scholarships to pursue my master’s degree. Finally, the day came when I received an email that changed my life—an offer for a Graduate Research Assistantship in the CIS department at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. Today, I wear two hats, serving both as a Teaching Assistant and a Graduate Research Assistant. My research focuses on the exciting realms of FinTech, Anomaly Detection, Concept Drift Detection, and Blockchain. I believe that our youth should equally focus on developing important skills along with their degree. My story is an example of how skills, hard work and persistent self-belief can change lives.
