Working with the SU-SCDC team to arrange skill development sessions in collaboration with the SSDP (Sindh Skills Development Program) was the best experience of my life. I participated in the program not only as a student but also as a volunteer, which is why my learning experience in all the sessions was immeasurably enriched. As a participant, the project aimed to impart skill development to youth who were lagging in their fields of expertise. The interactive sessions with mentors were incredibly valuable to me. They educated us about the importance of skills in the 21st century’s landscape of science and technology, while also providing means and measures for capacity building. More importantly, the tutors’ undivided focus on entrepreneurship and freelancing helped me realize my potential for great opportunities. In a nutshell, the SU-SCDC program propelled me forward in the realm of self-sustenance.
Moreover, as a volunteer inspired by Professor Farhat Naureen Memon, I learned about the management of organizing events and programs. She consistently participated in and worked hard to hold events that encouraged character and personality development. Throughout the sessions, my morale and confidence reached an extraordinary level. The practice of hosting, comparing, delivering, and maintaining order in the room significantly improved my personality. Before this, I had never participated in organizing sessions of this kind. Therefore, my administrative involvement in the sessions served as a catalyst for believing in my own expertise.
